Common Questions

Good To Know

Can I book a standing set for a single day?
Yes — every set at Digital Canaries is bookable by the day, week, or run. Most productions walk in Monday, shoot Tuesday-Thursday. Get in touch with your dates and we'll hold the space.
Where are your studios?
We run four bookable spaces in Hamilton, ON. 190 Britannia Avenue East, Hamilton, ON L8H 1X5 is our current studio. 243 Queen Street North, Hamilton, ON L8R 3N6 is our 28,000 sq ft flagship complex. 252 Stuart Street, Hamilton, ON L8R 2W6 — a separate building in the same complex — is our new 4,700 sq ft film studio and build space. Our sister brand Hamilton Prop House at 422 Barton Street East holds the bar, train, bookcase stage, and full props library.
Do you provide crew?
Yes — build crew, art department, and on-set support are available on request. Our own team builds every set, so they know the space back-to-front and can dress or modify in a day.

Are your sets tax-credit eligible?
Digital Canaries is an Ontario-based facility, so eligible production spend here may count toward the Ontario Production Services Tax Credit (OPSTC). Eligibility depends on the production and the expenditure, and the federal credits are mainly labour-based — confirm with your production accountant or tax-credit advisor.

What is Work to Film (WTF)?
