Good To Know

What is a Stack?

A Stack is a bundle of related standing sets that covers one story world, so a production can shoot the whole sequence in one city. Law & Order runs bullpen, interrogation, evidence, courtroom and cells; Medicine runs ER, operating room, recovery, ward and morgue. Six Stacks cover all 35+ sets.

Which Stacks are there?

Law & Order (11 sets, one under construction), Medicine (10), In Transit (4), Lived-In (5), Institutions (4) and Signature (3). Every set has its own page with the angles on file — open a Stack below and click through to any set.

Do I have to book a whole Stack?

No. Every set is bookable on its own by the day, week or run. Many productions book several sets at once, and we put together a package that fits the shooting schedule.

Where are the sets?

In Hamilton, Ontario — 190 Britannia Avenue East, 243 Queen Street North and 252 Stuart Street. The interrogation rooms, prison cells and holding cells are at the Queen Street studio. You book any set at any studio on one contract.

What does a Stack cost?

No rates are published. Day rates and Stack pricing are quoted per project — send your dates and we quote after the scout. Discounted rates apply to bookings of a week or longer.

How do I see a Stack before booking?

Book a scout. Contact us by phone or email and we schedule a walkthrough at a time that works for your team. A First Hold then reserves your preferred dates at no cost while you finalise the production schedule.

Do you work with Toronto productions?

Yes. Digital Canaries is in Hamilton, Ontario, about an hour by road from Toronto, and works with film, television and commercial productions from Toronto, the GTA and across Ontario. The 243 Queen Street flagship has production basecamp, crew parking and cast and crew holding on site.
